Job Stories

Just a quick note to let you know more jobs have been lost across Queensland today..and for that matter right across Australia. The Federal Government awarded it's "Jobs Placement' tenders today.. .and awarded the new contracts to several overseas businesses...while simultaneously handing unemployment to hundreds/thousands of Aussies.

The Australian companies closing doors include private business and charity organisations like Mission Employment.

Nice work Fiona - keep Anna honest. As a miner I am dissappointed that Labor and the Unions have gone quiet over the $5 billion cost on the coal industry of the Carbon Emissions Trading Scheme as it is currently. Can someone please help me tell Labor that Coal miners jobs cannot be played with.

When Labor first announced the 100,000 jobs, my initial thought was "ok, so they are going to measure this by the number of people who enter new employment " (ie gross employment increase). Then I saw Andrew Fraser confirm that the 100,000 positions are net employment growth. In other words, Labor have promised that of the 105,900 unemployed in QLD, in three years unemployment will be 5,900! Yes, I understand that we will have an increase in population over this time, but the end result is that Bligh has promised to reduce unemployment to almost zero during a Global downturn! Think about the emotional manipulation of this. She has promised that almost every unemployed person who votes for Labor will get a job. She has manipulated families in their time of need, promising what canâ t be delivered. Shame Shame Shame.
