From Single Mother

I'm a single mother with 3 children, no child support. Working for
a mining group if; I loose my job - I loose my house - and my kids loose
their education. My family deserve security. I've seen over 45 workers loose
their jobs in our group. When will this nightmare end!! |

I was made redundant along with 6 other people with a Gladstone
company. Why dont we see how many people have lost there jobs in the loacal
papers, all we see is how many jobs you think will be made. You cant hide it
for to much longer. If big company's are not doing any work, how are the
smaller ones going to survive. Show the real local job loss not just what
BHP/RIO are doing. |

| I was one of the early victims of the downturn. Unfortunately I was released
from my employment 2 weeks before BHP Billiton sacked 600 odd workers from
our Yabulu Nickel Refinery. I missed out on the "Flying Squad" additional
benefits and am currently trying to have some of my superannuation funds
released to pat the mortgage which is in arrears and facing foreclosure. Add
to that the super is almost worthless as it is share based and the prices of
the shares has diminished so much. I was even told last week that I was too
qualified for a job. Seems that the lying is rubbing off the sitting
government into the private sector. |
